Abridged History of the 10th Age
Often thought of as one of the origin points for the race of Men, Zesh is a lush land of jungles and dark brooding mystery. Ancient step-pyramids loom from the trees; the ruins of the ancient empire of the God-Kings and Sorcerer-Lords of Zesh lie scattered across the landscape. It is said here, in the most southerly of lands, dragons are tamed for fun and magic is a past-time taught to even the least members of society.
Zesh is often thought of as the birth place of the Art of magic; as Reynarius di Llun writes…
The Sorcerer-God-Kings of Zesh invented magic in the dawn of time, as any Zeshimite is happy to tell you. They deride our more civilized refinements (such as those in my home land of Dorlan) with great scorn. Ask any Zeshimite about magic and he’ll be able to rattle off a veritable text book of methodology and theory, unlike the magic-poor lands of the North where non-mages don’t know what in the Hells they’re talking about…!
The current ruler of Zesh is known as the Sorcerer-Lord Agani, one of a long line of usurpers to claim the vacant throne of the much diminished Zeshimite empire.
