Abridged History of the 10th Age
The Abbey Grant
|Abbatial Lands||Governance: Abbot Luthir Burr||Seat: Abbé Argenns|
While Abbé Argenns has stood for centuries, it is only within the last half-hundred years under King Aras Galoen that it received the governorship of the lands surrounding it. The decree was made in X.414 as part of a bid to solidify the king’s holding on the throne (he had been placed there by the Conclave). Since that time, the formerly Avarine towns of the Marish Country were placed under the Abbot’s administration and tax oversight. Since then, the Abbey has formed a central part of the Curia Vigilis, and receives a powerful say on the councils of the Watch.
Luthir Burr, a halfling from Aldardam, strongly supports the position of the Castellan at Northgate Citadel; the abbey lands suffered terribly from kobolds both from the northern Marish and Crescent wood in the winter of X.495, known as the Winter of Fears by the locals. For that reason, and others, Burr is a staunch ally of Northgate.
