Pact magic is a form of wizardry that is not practiced in the North. It is based upon the complex religion of the Trolls and their worship of Mother Night and her attendant spirits. Pact magicians (called adeli in Zesh) can most often be found on the small islands off the coast of Zesh or in isolated regions of Mughar. They gain their power not through diligent study but rather by making bargains with the various spirits of Night.
