Moon Kingdoms

Overview

The Moon Kingdoms, as they are known, comprise a region that begins on the far eastern side of the Straights of the Moon and extends eastwards to the Bay of Lost Ships. All the land north of the Ugudun Mountains belongs to ogres, goblins, and hobgoblins and makes up the so-called Moon Kingdoms. South of the mountains lies the vast and generally unexplored and unpleasant region of Ugudun, the last bastion of Trollish strength and civilization in the world. Its borders are haunted lands hemmed about with ancient goblin wards to prevent the trolls from making headway into the Moon Kingdoms. Rumor speaks of vast wasted deserts and empty cities that march on until one reaches the heart of Ugudun, the still-occupied Houses of Night where ancient trollish practice dates back to before the first sunrise.

The goblinoid kingdoms of the Moon influenced the development of the ancient region of Ishtar, which is now divided amongst the realm of Hadash and the Domains of Ishtria. Many travelers in the Moon Kingdoms remark that the Llyrian, Murathan, and Hadashi/Ishtrian Kehmri languages sound quite similar to the Moon Kingdoms Murathas in which the goblins speak.
