Abridged History of the 10th Age
Lomere is a flat region north of the Bay of Rhun. For this reason its ecology varies between tidal flats and swampy lowlands. Much of Lomere has been reclaimed from the sea using gnomish and dwarvish know-how. It isn’t a particularly fertile or well-tended part of Thyrnesse due to its extreme unsuitability for habitation: its many rivers easily wander in their courses; the largest, the Claywater, frequently shifts so greatly that entire villages and manors are forced to relocate in other parts of the countryside.
Lomere, along with Westreth, comprises the direct domain of Balduen the Fair. The lesser of his two domains, Prince Balduen has nevertheless attempted to effect changes in the shabby situation of Lomere living. Hiring engineers and hydromancers from all over the North, a great project to dam the Claywater began in X500. It seems unlikely to continue, however, due to the expansionist policies of Tamerin III Galoen which will soon require the full treasuries of the border-lords including Balduen.
