Abridged History of the 10th Age
- Gwydereon—The Hierophant, ruler of Tailimisä and general lord of the elvish people. This position is something like a mage-priest and technically the Hierophant is above any mere elvish king. The Hierophant rules both the temple of the Daystar (Noronë) and the temple of Anunë, giving him massive religious power in his own realm, and a huge amount of carry-over power in other elvish lands.
- Brenneon—King, sometimes translated as elf-king by non-natives. The brennan are the rulers of the smaller elvish kingdoms scattered across the world.
- Tywys—Prince, meaning the heir-apparent to an elvish kingdom. Only one person may ever be legitimately called tywys at any given time. The most famous of all tywys was Meroën, tywys Vesimä.
- Glwys-lân—This title means “holy one” but is used for clerics of all kinds. The opposite title, anfad-lân, is used for a priest of an enemy; this means something like “unholy one.”
